Master the Cue Card: Practice real IELTS Speaking Part 2 questions and model answers!
In this section, you'll find a typical Part 2 "cue card" question, guiding prompts, and a sample answer. Listen, read, and practice to boost your fluency and confidence for the real exam.
Describe a person you know who is generally punctual.
You should say:
One person I know who is always punctual is my university friend,Aman. We've been close friends since our first year of college, and I’ve always admired how he manages his time so well. He studies computer science and has a very busy schedule with classes, assignments, and part-time work. Despite that,he always arrives early for lectures and meetings, even when others are late. What makes him stand out is that he never rushes or seems stressed. He plans everything in advance, whether it’s waking up early or preparing his tasks the night before. I think he’s punctual because he values discipline and believes that being on time shows responsibility. His habits have even inspired me to become more organized in my own routine.
In this part-3 of the IELTS Speaking test, you will answer questions related to the cue card topic above. These questions require you to discuss more abstract ideas and issues.
Do you think punctuality is important in daily life?
What are the consequences of being late in your country?
Why do some people struggle to be on time?
Is punctuality more valued in some professions than others?
Do you think technology helps people be more punctual?
Can culture influence people’s views on punctuality?
